Job Summary
Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot production and facility equipment while fabricating parts to improve safety and efficiency. Perform preventative maintenance, complete documentation, and diagnose pneumatic, hydraulic, and power transmission systems. Inspect and service pumps, valves, conveyors, and mechanical equipment by reading schematics and operating shop tools safely. Execute welding, fabrication, rigging, and hoisting activities while following lockout/tagout procedures. Respond to equipment breakdowns and support production during the night shift rotation from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. Adhere to the detailed Preventative Maintenance and Food Defense Program schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Industrial Millwright (433A) Certificate of Qualification
- Experience in a manufacturing or processing environment
- Competence to operate safely general shop machine and hand tools such as, Lathes, Grinders, and Welders
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work effectively with production and maintenance personnel
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A strong commitment to safe work practices
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude
- A skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and continuous improvement
- Night shift availability (11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m. Sunday-Thursday)
- Flexibility to cover vacation time etc. when needed
- Ability to follow a detailed Preventative Maintenance and Food Defense Program schedule
- Ability to fill out proper documentation
- Ability to work in a 24/5 manufacturing operation
- Ability to perform frequent walking, kneeling, climbing, and working in tight spaces
- Ability to work at heights with proper training and equipment
- Ability to perform regular lifting ranging from 5 to 75 lbs
- Ability to work in exposure to noise, heat, cold temperatures, and industrial conditions
