Job Summary
Conduct daily maintenance, repair, and overhaul of plant production equipment, including pumps, conveyors, motors, compressors, and industrial dryer/cooler setups. Perform weekly preventive maintenance walkthroughs and inspections, identify and correct machine or process problems to facilitate production, and respond quickly to trouble calls from shift supervisors and operators. Assist operating engineers with plant utilities maintenance, execute corrective actions for reliability issues, and participate in design, installation, and commissioning projects. Maintain accurate shift logs, maintenance inspections, and meter readings while ensuring smooth communication during shift changes. Train in airborne ultrasound and thermography as needed. Work 10-hour afternoon and night shifts in a multi-national crew environment with 13 days off monthly.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
- Red Seal Millwright (Fully Licensed)
- Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, kneeling, crawling, twisting, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold, dust
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
- Must be able to perform maintenance trades including rigging systems, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance and hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- If selected for an interview, you will be required to submit signed copies of your last two performance reviews
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift experience
- Class 4 Power Engineering Certificate
- Able to perform maintenance trades including machinist, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication
- At least 2 years of experience in production related work
- Basic computer skills
- Previous experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) and/or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to operate heavy equipment
- Person should be willing to get trained in the following areas, airborne ultrasound, thermography
