Job Summary
Conduct daily maintenance, repair, and overhaul of plant production equipment, including pumps, compressors, conveyors, and motors ranging from 0.5hp to 450hp. Perform weekly preventive maintenance walkthroughs, inspections, and repairs while identifying and correcting problems in machines, equipment, or processes to facilitate production. Respond quickly to trouble calls from shift supervisors and operators, assist operating engineers with utility maintenance, and support projects involving design, installation, and commissioning. Maintain accurate records of shift logs, maintenance inspections, and meter readings, ensuring smooth communication during shift changes. Actively seek process improvements and collaborate on project teams as required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
- Red Seal Millwright (Fully Licensed)
- Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, kneeling, crawling, twisting, climbing ladders, open/close valves, shoveling, pounding with hammer and work in confined spaces
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be able to work under special work conditions, such as extreme heat or cold, dust
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts
- Must be able to perform maintenance trades including rigging systems, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance and hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift experience
- Class 4 Power Engineering Certificate
- Able to perform maintenance trades including machinist, welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication
- At least 2 years of experience in production related work
- Basic computer skills
- Previous experience with MRO (Maintenance Repair Ops) and/or MRP (Material Requirement Planning)
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
- Ability to operate heavy equipment
