Industrial Millwright - Afternoon Shift

Job Summary

Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot production and facility equipment while fabricating machine parts to improve safety and efficiency. Perform preventative maintenance, read schematics, and service pneumatic, hydraulic, and power transmission systems. Operate shop equipment including lathes, grinders, and welders, and follow lockout/tagout procedures to protect employees. Support production by responding to equipment breakdowns and participate in after-hours or on-call maintenance as required. Complete a detailed Preventative Maintenance and Food Defense Program schedule with accurate documentation. Work the afternoon shift (3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.) in a 24/5 food packaging environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Industrial Millwright (433A) Certificate of Qualification
  • Experience in a manufacturing or processing environment
  • Competence to operate safely general shop machine and hand tools such as, Lathes, Grinders, and Welders
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work effectively with production and maintenance personnel
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A strong commitment to safe work practices
  • A proactive and self-motivated attitude
  • A skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and continuous improvement
  • Flexibility to cover vacation time etc. when needed
  • Ability to follow a detailed Preventative Maintenance and Food Defense Program schedule
  • Ability to fill out the proper documentation
  • Ability to work in a 24/5 manufacturing operation
  • Ability to perform frequent walking, kneeling, climbing, and working in tight spaces
  • Ability to work at heights with proper training and equipment
  • Ability to perform regular lifting ranging from 5 to 75 lbs
  • Ability to work in exposure to noise, heat, cold temperatures, and industrial conditions
  • Ability to perform welding, fabrication, rigging, and hoisting activities
  • Ability to operate shop equipment such as lathes, grinders, welders, forklifts, scissor lifts, and overhead cranes
  • Ability to follow lockout/tagout procedures and all safety requirements
  • Ability to respond to equipment breakdowns and participate in after-hours or on-call maintenance
