Industrial Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Troubleshoot and repair industrial machinery, conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, chains, sprockets, couplings, and power transmission equipment. Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, perform precision alignment of rotating equipment, and replace wear components. Execute preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime while conducting root-cause analysis and implementing permanent corrective actions. Perform welding, cutting, fabrication, and minor machining as required. Read mechanical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals to guide installations and upgrades. Collaborate with electrical technicians during major repairs and maintain accurate documentation for daily reports. Provide coverage in the absence of other technicians. Work in non-ideal environments including tight spaces, heights, and around heavy machinery.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience in steel processing, stamping, or heavy manufacturing
- Strong troubleshooting ability with rotating equipment and hydraulic systems
- Experience with conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and power transmission equipment
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Knowledge of OSHA and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Mechanical apprenticeship, trade school, or equivalent industrial experience
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and job-related internet research
- Ability to use a computer to write daily reports, respond to emails, and search for replacement parts
- Responsible for proper care and cleanliness of tools, equipment, materials, and work area
- Responsible for providing coverage in the absence of other Maintenance Technicians
- Be able and willing to work in non-ideal environments such as: tight spaces, working at heights, dusty/dirty areas, around heavy machinery, and wear hard-hats and ear-plugs
- Job performance demands constant application of the following physical requirements: use of hands
- Job performance demands frequent application of the following physical requirements: lifting (Avg. 20 lbs), walking, standing, bending, fine manipulation, close visual acuity, near/far vision, upper limb coordination, multiple limb coordination
- Job performance demands occasional application of the following physical requirements: lifting (Max. 80 lbs.), carrying, sitting, reaching, overhead reaching/lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, twisting, climbing, balancing, foot controls, driving, total visual field
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience preferred
- Experience in steel processing, stamping, or heavy manufacturing preferred
- Strong troubleshooting ability with rotating equipment and hydraulic systems
- Experience with conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, bearings, and power transmission equipment
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
