Job Summary
Independently install, modify, and maintain mechanical and process equipment, including pumps, compressors, generators, and automated lubrication systems. Inspect, repair, and adjust machinery using precision tools and blueprints to troubleshoot complex problems and align dimensions. Verify functional parts and control instruments while ensuring safe operation of mechanical systems in a 24/7 rotating shift environment at DuPont's Buffalo manufacturing site. This role supports the production of Corian solid surface products and Tedlar PVF films.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma plus completion of a trade school or apprenticeship certificate or program
- 4 years' experience as a Millwright, Maintenance Mechanic or similar in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of pumps, seals, bearings, utility system components, piping and valves, and complex chemical processing equipment
- Willing and able to work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule including holidays and weekends as well as overtime, sometimes on short notice
- Willing and able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must pass Drug Screen, Background check, and pre-employment Physical
- Must be able to perform all duties with or without accommodation
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher in Mechanical Technology or related discipline
- Welding certification – Level 6G
- Specialized skills in pipe fitting
