Job Summary
Lead equipment and process initiatives that enhance productivity, improve quality, and optimize the use of people, machines, materials, and information. Provide flow analysis, statistical data analysis, layout development, equipment evaluation, and cost analysis while establishing manufacturing Bills of Material. Study product requirements to design manufacturing systems meeting performance, quality, and cost objectives, integrating material flow, kitting, and logistics paths to minimize handling costs and Work-In-Progress accumulation. Drive commissioning of new production lines, including installation sequencing, line acceptance testing, and formal production handoffs. Specify precise utility requirements and coordinate with Equipment Engineering on station footprints. Review productivity and quality metrics to establish new key performance indicators and maintain existing ones. Develop and revise technical documentation including work instructions and standard operating procedures. US Citizen with Secret Clearance eligibility. Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering. 7+ years of experience in operations design, preferably in automotive or aerospace.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen and meet eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related STEM discipline
- At least 7 years of directly relevant experience in an operations environment and operations design, preferably in Automotive, Aerospace, or other automated, high-complexity production and industrial manufacturing environments
- Demonstrated experience developing executable facility layout blueprints and complex digital model development of production floors
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and manufacturing engineering
- Proficiency in equipment selection and equipment layout evaluation and design for new product manufacturing
Desired Qualifications
- experience with advanced factory simulation and 3D layout tools (e.g., FlexSim, Siemens Tecnomatix/Plant Sim, DELMIA, Arena) to represent Descrete Event Simulation (DES)
