Job Summary
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant equipment including mixers, extruders, and dryers to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. Complete work orders through the CMMS system, troubleshoot equipment issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Respond to maintenance requests, communicate with production operators regarding repair needs, and maintain accurate documentation. Comply with all safety policies and regulatory requirements while keeping work areas clean and organized. Provide guidance to machine operators on proper equipment operation as necessary. This role supports production at our Dalton, Georgia facility within Techmer PM, the world's foremost materials design firm.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Working knowledge of AC/DC drives, variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo motors, and controls wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC inputs and outputs.
- Proficiency using diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., multimeters, laptops, micrometers, calipers, infrared measurement devices).
- Experience with common shop equipment and power tools.
- Basic computer skills, including email, Microsoft Office applications, and CMMS systems.
- Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and supervision.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, kneel, and climb stairs as required.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in an industrial/manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and mechanical equipment.
- This position may require overtime, shift work, or on-call availability based on operational needs.
- Employment is contingent upon meeting company background, drug screening, and pre-employment requirements, where applicable.
Desired Qualifications
- HVAC experience with process chillers.
- Electro-Mechanical education, training, or certification.
