Job Summary
Diagnose and resolve electrical system issues using load computations, testing procedures, and diagnostic equipment. Troubleshoot and repair medium voltage systems (480 VAC / 750 VDC), including transformers, motor control centers, and electrical area classifications. Perform visual and mechanical inspections to ensure machinery remains in optimal condition for quality production while maintaining compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA standards. Conduct regular inspections under the preventive maintenance program and perform minor and major building repairs to maintain facility integrity. Provide on-the-job guidance to new maintenance personnel and assist with special projects assigned by the Team Leader.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or recognized equivalent
- Minimum of (3) five years related work experience in a maintenance mechanic function, or equivalent related experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of safety protocols when working around hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Maintains compliance with NFPA 70E, NEC, and applicable OSHA standards
- Shows consistent commitment to electrical safety, especially in high-pressure situations
- Diagnoses and resolves issues in electrical systems and equipment using standard load computations and testing procedures
- Utilizes electrician's hand tools, measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment effectively
- Performs visual and mechanical inspections to ensure machinery remains in optimal condition for quality production
- Troubleshoots and repairs medium voltage systems (480 VAC / 750 VDC)
- Maintains and tests transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), and electrical area classifications
- Follows the company's preventive maintenance program, conducting regular inspections and taking proactive measures
- Performs both minor and major building repairs to maintain facility integrity
- Experienced with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Skilled in mechanical systems maintenance and repair
- Proficient in working with: Three-phase motors
- Proficient in working with: DC motors and motor controls
- Proficient in working with: Servo motors and controls
- Proficient in working with: Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Proficient in working with: Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs)
- Proficient in working with: Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs – AC/DC)
- Proficient in working with: Analog circuits (0–10 VDC, 4–20 mA)
- Proficient in working with: Communication protocols (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.)
- Reads and interprets electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals with precision
- Provides on-the-job guidance to new maintenance personnel and those assisting with maintenance tasks
