Job Summary
Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot various grain, chemical, and lumber handling equipment using mechanical, electrical, welding, and fabrication skills. Execute scheduled maintenance, coordinate facility downtime, and manage spare parts inventory while adhering to strict safety protocols and risk management processes. Mentor junior workers and lead on-site teams, often working extended hours and callbacks on short notice. Maintain a clean shop environment, operate heavy machinery like forklifts and aerial lifts, and assist in purchasing maintenance items. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years' experience as a Maintenance Mechanic and/or Millwright/Electrician in a production or manufacturing environment
- Good analytical, mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Valid class 5 driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
- Available to work overtime and weekends
- Professional demeanor (safety conscious, quality of job performance, cleanliness, and verbal communications)
- Ability to engage and interact with third-party contractors and suppliers
- Strong work ethic
- Able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to read, write, understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions in English
- Must be able to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders
- Must be able to work in tight and confined spaces
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must be able to wear PPE
- Must be able to work in a physically strenuous environment
Desired Qualifications
- Electrical maintenance and/or Welding experience considered an asset
- Agricultural industry experience considered an asset
- Motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of conveyer belts, drags, conveyers, large gear boxes, large electric motors and bucket elevators
- Previous leadership or lead experience an asset
- Trade Journeyman certificate or an engineering degree or certificate an asset
