Job Summary
Coordinate work order scheduling and planning with the maintenance team to minimize production interruptions while achieving maximum cost efficiency. Troubleshoot mechanical problems for production equipment and eliminate safety hazards, malfunctioning machinery, and facility repair requests. Manage subordinate staff, interact professionally with all departments, and assist in training new employees. Monitor operations for non-conformity in processes and procedures, report inconsistencies to management, and identify required materials. Perform hands-on work including overtime as assigned, while actively participating in Safety Committee initiatives and serving as an emergency first responder. Requires working knowledge of USDA guidelines, OSHA requirements, and GMPs.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge of production equipment, operational processes and production standard operational procedures
- Demonstrated ability in communication skills, preferably in both English and Spanish
- Ability to manage subordinate maintenance staff
- Ability to trouble-shoot mechanical problems for production and other plant equipment
- Ability to read and understand technical information, work orders, and labels
- Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of employees
- Working knowledge of standard operating procedures including, but not limited to, USDA guidelines, OSHA requirements, HAACP guidelines, GMPs, quality specifications, employee handbook, and company policies
- Position involves lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds
- Must be available for overtime work
- Must be able to work in cold, wet environment
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, or stoop for long periods
