Job Summary
Perform general maintenance duties including painting, cleaning, fixture/tooling fabrication, and installing belts, bearings, and chains. Maintain plant equipment through preventative maintenance programs and new equipment installation while troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems for heat treat furnaces. Read equipment manuals and work orders to conduct scheduled inspections of fluid levels, water flows, and filters, then accurately document all repairs and modifications. Assist in equipment performance testing, implement the facility's preventative maintenance program, and maintain inventory of supplies and replacement parts. Perform instrument calibration, temperature surveys, and building maintenance as directed. Practice safety protocols, promote good housekeeping, and report unusual problems to the supervisor. Work full-time, 40 hours per week from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, in an industrial environment. This role supports Bodycote, the world's largest provider of thermal processing services, ensuring customer inventory safety and meeting production specifications.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder
- College or technical degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent plus 4 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Experience with welding, cutting, brazing, etc.
- Working knowledge of electricity
- General knowledge of hydraulics and furnaces
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Forklift operator certification
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and databases
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum one year of experience in the heat treating industry
