Industrial Maintenance Supervisor - Electrical

Job Summary
Lead maintenance safety programs and initiatives ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and lockout/tagout requirements while promoting a culture of accountability. Provide technical leadership for all plant electrical systems, including troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and modernization projects for motors, VFDs, PLCs, automation, and power distribution. Coordinate planned electrical outages and support emergency breakdowns, preventative, and predictive maintenance repairs to maximize equipment availability and reduce downtime. Lead the execution of reliability-centered maintenance strategies, analyze equipment performance trends, and oversee root cause failure analyses to improve plant effectiveness. Develop and mentor a team of electricians, technicians, and multi-craft personnel through training, apprenticeships, and performance management. Optimize labor, resources, and contractor performance using CMMS systems to ensure successful execution of shutdowns.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years experience in industrial maintenance in heavy manufacturing, mining operations, foundries, refinery, power generation facilities, steel manufacturing
- Minimum 5 years experience in maintenance leadership or supervisory experience
- Journeyman electrician credentials, license, or equivalent documentation
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering
- 7 years of experience in electrical maintenance in heavy industry
- Demonstrated experience managing maintenance activities in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
- Experience supporting Rolling mills, Electric Arc Furnaces, Continuous Casting Operations, Finishing Mills
- Experience supervising union workforce
- Experience with capital projects and equipment installations
- Working knowledge in the following electrical systems: Industrial power distribution, medium voltage and low voltage systems, switchgear and transformers, three phase electrical systems, MCCs and motor controls, industrial wiring and electrical troubleshooting, VFDs and soft starters, Arc flash safety and electrical compliance
- Working knowledge in: PLC troubleshooting and diagnostics, Allen Bradley and Siemens systems, HMI systems, SCADA systems, industrial communication networks, instrumentation and process control systems
- Working knowledge in mechanical systems: hydraulics and pneumatics, bearings and power transmission equipment, pumps and compressors, conveyors, gearboxes, and rotating equipment
