Job Summary
Perform all installation, maintenance, servicing, repairing, and rebuilding of packaging equipment, including troubleshooting and changeovers for machines like DoBoys, Fallas Case Packers, and box erectors. Safely operate mobile equipment, use machining tools such as mills and lathes, and execute preventative maintenance schedules while maintaining parts inventories and making material bills of materials. Communicate with operators, electricians, and engineers to resolve issues, issue work orders, and evaluate preventative maintenance schedules. Work flexible shifts including 2nd and 3rd shift rotations, weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime. Pass written and practical mechanical skills assessments and maintain company uniforms and PPE.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the industrial, military, or owner/operator trades environment
- Food manufacturing experience
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English
- Must be flexible to work any shift and work weekends, holidays and overtime
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must have a basic understanding of PC's and basic computer skills
- machine shop & welding skills
- Must achieve a passing score on both a written and practical mechanical assessment
- Must understand all lockout procedures
- Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
- Must have understanding of SAP, entering notifications, logging time and following up with repairs
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to effectively function in a fast-paced team environment
- Must be able to work around operating equipment, confined spaces, stand, reach, stoop, crawl, walk, climb ladders and bend
- The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required to include but not limited to safety toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, bump camps, hair and beard nets, and gloves
- Wearing company issued uniforms is a requirement
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair all packaging and robotic equipment
- Safely set up and change a Nibs cutter
- Safely operator mobile equipment such as fork trucks, hand trucks, lifts, boom lifts, etc.
- Safely perform changeovers as they apply to Hayssens DoBoys, Fallas Case Packers/ERectors, Campbell Wrappers, box machines, case erectors, etc.
- Safely change blades in a DoBoy machine and set up to run
- Must understand all lockout procedures
- Must have understanding of SAP, entering notifications, logging time and following up with repairs
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Regularly required to work around operating equipment, confined spaces, stand, reach, stoop, crawl, walk, climb ladders and bend
