Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform complex troubleshooting on printing presses, including Heidelberg, KBA, Komori, and Kodak Inkjet systems. Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine root causes, utilizing precision measuring tools and system analysis for accurate resolution. Coordinate repairs with external vendors, develop specifications for outsourced parts, and assist in the installation and commissioning of production equipment. Minimize downtime and ensure all work complies with safety standards while maintaining flexibility for on-call rotations and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or GED
- 5 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance (Mechanic) in a manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude & troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems
- Proficiency in preventive and predictive maintenance practices
- Good computer skills with MS Office Suite, specifically Excel & Outlook email
- Must be a team player and positive in all interactions at all levels of the organization
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Able to give & follow verbal & written instructions, including blueprints & schematics
- Strong problem-solving skills and great attention to detail
- Ability to read measuring devices such as Micrometers, Calipers, Dial Indicators, etc
- Willing to work flexible hours and overtime with short notice
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities & work well under the pressure of deadlines
- Prior certification operating Forklifts (Sit-down, Stand-up, Aerial Lifts, etc)
- Must have flexibility to learn and use new technology
- Good experience with machine installation and rigging
- Skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and material handling devices
- Welding experience: Tig, Mig, Arc, Oxy-Acetylene, etc
- Demonstrates strong drive to learn new Printing equipment, determination, and initiative with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot issues
- Takes ownership of tasks in support of the overall team
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 60 lbs. regularly
- Must have excellent attendance record
Desired Qualifications
- Vocational or Technical School degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanic, Electrical or HVAC, and/or related field
- Experience in mechatronics, robotics and industrial automation systems, including troubleshooting, integration, and optimization of automated equipment
- Exposure & knowledge of lean manufacturing processes
- Experience using a Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for work orders
- Maintenance experience in a Printing environment (Yearbook or Commercial printing)
