Job Summary
Develop and manage a robust preventive maintenance program to reduce equipment downtime and improve plant efficiency across semi-automated pallet operations. Enforce health and safety regulations by conducting regular audits, equipment testing, and safety checks while leading continuous improvement initiatives for reliability targets. Lead and mentor the maintenance team, overseeing staffing, training, and performance management to support 70 employees and 3-5 direct reports. Manage procurement, inventory, and budget control for spare parts and consumables, while leading capital expenditure projects for upgrades and new installations. Optimize utility usage and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through asset management processes. Overlap between the 1st and 2nd shift for coverage on a Monday-Thursday schedule.
Required Qualifications
- HNC Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline desirable
- 2-3+ years of people management experience in an engineering or industrial maintenance role preferably in the FMCG sector
- 5+ years of hands-on electro-mechanical repair and maintenance experience (hydraulic & pneumatic tools, machinery & equipment)
- Knowledge of the Budgeting (control) and CAPEX process
- Knowledge of OEE and reliability systems
