Job Summary
Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, controls, and automation failures for conveyors, shuttle systems, ASRS equipment, robotics, and control panels. Diagnose Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems using I/O status, alarms, and schematics while maintaining motors, VFDs, and safety circuits. Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance in accordance with codes, then respond to breakdowns to restore operations with minimal disruption. Document work orders, parts usage, and program changes in the CMMS while adhering to electrical safety, arc-flash, and LOTO requirements. Afternoon and night shifts available with shift premiums.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Alberta Journeyperson Electrician certificate or recognized equivalent
- Red Seal endorsement
- At least 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience with automated or PLC-controlled equipment
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) and/or Siemens PLC platforms
- Strong knowledge of industrial controls, motor control circuits, safety circuits, sensors, encoders, VFDs, and industrial electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, equipment manuals, and PLC logic
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing breakdowns, and make sound decisions during off-shift operations
- Clear communication, teamwork, and accurate technical documentation skills
- Afternoon Shift : 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
- Night Shift : 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
Desired Qualifications
- Red Seal endorsement is preferred
- Hands-on troubleshooting experience with Allen-Bradley (Rockwell) and/or Siemens PLC platforms; experience with both is strongly preferred
- Automated distribution, ASRS, shuttle, robotics, sortation, or high-speed conveyor systems
- Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 / RSLogix and Siemens TIA Portal / STEP 7 diagnostic experience
- Industrial Ethernet, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, remote I/O, barcode scanners, and device communications
- Servo systems, machine safety, HMI troubleshooting, backups, and controlled PLC program changes
- Experience using a CMMS and participating in root cause analysis or reliability improvement
