Job Summary
Conduct industrial hygiene surveys, exposure assessments, and workplace evaluations at Michoud Assembly Facility, performing field sampling and monitoring for chemical, physical, and biological hazards. Review engineering documents and operating procedures to identify occupational health risks, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NASA, and ACGIH standards. Prepare technical reports, manage industrial hygiene documentation, and deliver training to employees and management. Serve as a subject matter expert for industrial hygiene matters while supporting internal audits and regulatory reviews. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene or related field with five years of experience, proficiency with monitoring instruments, and the ability to work in varying field conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related scientific discipline
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible industrial hygiene experience
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA, ACGIH, and other applicable occupational health regulations and standards
- Experience conducting industrial hygiene surveys, exposure assessments, and field sampling
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering technical presentations and training
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently and collaboratively
- Ability to obtain and maintain required NASA site access and credentials
- Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing
Desired Qualifications
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification
- Candidates actively pursuing CIH certification, including documented eligibility or examination preparation
- Experience supporting NASA, Department of Defense (DoD), or other highly regulated government environments
- Experience reviewing engineering designs, construction projects, and operational procedures for occupational health impacts
- Experience supporting industrial hygiene programs within manufacturing, aerospace, or industrial facilities
