Job Summary
Senior Industrial Hygiene Technician responsible for conducting hazardous materials surveys (asbestos, lead-based paint) and providing sampling, reporting, and remediation oversight in compliance. Core duties include collecting environmental and personal samples, preparing shipments to laboratories, documenting chain-of-custody and survey data, compiling detailed reports with methodology, results, and recommendations, operating and maintaining sampling equipment, applying Atlas health and safety standards, and traveling to project/client sites with flexible hours. Requires certification (CSST/CAC and CDPH LRC certifications), a valid driver’s license, strong technical writing skills, and experience with industrial hygiene sampling equipment, regulatory knowledge, and Microsoft Office applications; ability to travel up to 50% and lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree, or certificate in a related field; field experience may substitute for education
- Valid driver’s license
- DOSH Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) or DOSH Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC)
- CDPH Lead Related Construction Sampling Technician (LRC ST) or CDPH LRC Inspector/Assessor (I/A) certification
- Ability to wear respirator and PPE
- Experience conducting asbestos, lead, and mold surveys
- Experience conducting exposure assessments and hazardous materials oversight
- Strong technical inspection and writing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft software and applications
- Ability to climb stairs/ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, travel up to 50%
