Job Summary

Perform mechanical, electrical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of generators during normal and after hours. Detect faulty operations, defective material, and unusual situations to report them to the service manager. Maintain current knowledge of NFPA and State regulations for EPSS while traveling locally for service calls with a 50% travel requirement including overnight rotations. Lift up to 100 pounds with assistance and comply with PPE requirements including safety gear and closed-toed shoes. This role supports Energy Systems, a long-standing Generac Industrial Distributor providing sales, service, and rentals of industrial power solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years servicing and troubleshooting emergency power supply systems (EPSS)
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams
  • Advanced knowledge of Engine maintenance and troubleshooting of natural gas or diesel fuel systems
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience with Kohler, CAT, Cummins, Katolight, or Briggs & Stratton generators
  • Ability to stand regularly
  • Ability to use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls
  • Ability to talk and hear

  • Ability to crouch
  • Ability to bend
  • Ability to reach above shoulders
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance

  • Compliance with assigned location PPE requirements including safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields
  • Compliance with closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies
  • Stays current on NFPA and State regulations for EPSS
  • Travel around local area for service calls
  • On-call rotation with 50% travel (25% overnight)
