Job Summary
Perform mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of generators during normal and after hours. Detect faulty operations, defective material, and unusual situations to report them to the service manager. Stay current on NFPA and State regulations for EPSS. Travel around the local area for service calls with a 50% travel rotation including 25% overnight. Maintain knowledge of engine maintenance for natural gas or diesel fuel systems across brands like Kohler, CAT, Cummins, and Perkins.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4 years servicing and troubleshooting emergency power supply systems (EPSS)
- Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams
- Advanced knowledge of Engine maintenance and troubleshooting of natural gas or diesel fuel systems
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with Kohler, CAT, Cummins, Katolight, MTU, Briggs & Stratton, Yanmar, Perkins, or Deutz generators or engines
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance
