Job Summary
Perform mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of generators during normal and after hours. Detect faulty operations, defective material, and report unusual situations to the service manager. Stay current on NFPA and State regulations for EPSS. Travel locally for service calls with 50% travel time, including 25% overnight on-call rotation. Energy Systems, a long-standing Generac Industrial Distributor, provides sales, service, and rentals for industrial power solutions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4 years of servicing and troubleshooting emergency power supply systems (EPSS)
- Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams
- Advanced knowledge of Engine maintenance and troubleshooting of natural gas or diesel fuel systems
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with Kohler, CAT, Cummins, Katolight, or Briggs & Stratton generators
- Ability to regularly stand
- Ability to frequently use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls
- Ability to talk and hear
- Ability to regularly walk
- Ability to stoop
- Ability to crouch
- Ability to bend
- Ability to reach above shoulders
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance

- Ability to comply with assigned location PPE requirements including safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields
- Ability to wear closed-toed or safety shoes
