Industrial Generator Technician

Job Summary

Required Qualifications

• •High School Diploma or equivalent
• •4 years of servicing and troubleshooting emergency power supply systems (EPSS)
• •Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams
• •Advanced knowledge of Engine maintenance and troubleshooting of natural gas or diesel fuel systems
• •Valid driver's license
• •Experience with Kohler, CAT, Cummins, Katolight, or Briggs & Stratton generators
• •Ability to regularly stand
• •Ability to frequently use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls
• •Ability to talk and hear
• •Ability to regularly walk
• •Ability to stoop
• •Ability to crouch
• •Ability to bend
• •Ability to reach above shoulders
• •Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted
• •Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
• •Close vision
• •Distance vision
• •Peripheral vision
• •Depth perception
• •Ability to discern color
• •Ability to comply with assigned location PPE requirements including safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing, and shields
• •Ability to wear closed-toed or safety shoes
• •Knowledge of NFPA and State regulations for EPSS
• •Ability to travel around the local area for service calls
• •Ability to work on-call rotation with 50% travel (25% overnight)
• •Ability to perform mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repair of generators during normal working hours and after hours
• •Ability to detect faulty operations, defective material and report them and any other unusual situations to the service manager in a timely manner
