Job Summary
The Industrial Firefighter / Rescue Specialist ensures the safety of personnel, equipment, and infrastructure by providing fire protection, technical rescue, and hazard mitigation services within high-risk industrial facilities. Key responsibilities include responding to industrial fires and hazardous material incidents, operating firefighting apparatus, conducting fire prevention inspections, performing various technical rescues, and promoting safety awareness. Candidates should possess a high school diploma, certified firefighter and hazardous materials operations credentials, and a minimum of three years of emergency response experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Firefighter I & II (NFPA 1001 or equivalent)
- Hazardous Materials Operations (NFPA 472/1072)
- Technical Rescue certifications (confined space, rope rescue, trench, machinery)
- Valid driver’s license
Desired Qualifications
- Post-secondary training in Fire Science or related field
- Experience in offshore, petrochemical, refinery, LNG, manufacturing, or other heavy industrial environments
Additional Requirements
- Rotational shifts, nights, weekends, and on-call availability required
- Mandatory use of PPE, including bunker gear, SCBA, and rescue harnesses
