Job Summary
Install, configure, test, and maintain industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation) in field environments. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting electrical/mechanical/software issues, interpreting wiring schematics and diagrams, collaborating with engineers/programmers/technicians for system integration, documenting service activities and configurations accurately, communicating with clients about service status and resolutions, enforcing safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout), and traveling to project sites as needed. Thermo-Trol Systems designs, installs, and maintains HVAC and Industrial Control Systems for clients in Southeastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina; equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, or related field preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and control systems
- Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens)
- Experience with HMI/SCADA software and programming tools
- Familiarity with VFDs
- Understanding of electrical systems including power distribution, control circuits, instrumentation
- Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (blueprints, wiring schematics, diagrams)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and team members
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to travel to client sites as required
- Able to pass a background check
- Able to pass a drug screen for federal contractor requirements
- Hold a valid driver's license with clean driving record
