Job Summary
Schedule and oversee daily shop and field operations for the $15M+ sheet metal and custom fabrication division. Lead a team of 6–8 direct reports while personally managing 60% of the project workload as a hands-on leader. Review bids, pricing, and proposal quality; oversee estimating, project management execution, and vendor coordination. Coordinate fabrication sequencing with field installation, manage procurement, and monitor division budget and job costing. Ensure all work meets codes, specs, and quality standards while enforcing shop and jobsite safety. Personally bid and manage select projects to drive value to the bottom line in a low-bureaucracy environment.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years experience in sheet metal fabrication
- 2+ years supervisory, leadership, or management experience
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and project specs
- Experience overseeing estimating, project management, or procurement
- Working knowledge of job costing, labor productivity, and budget management
- Experience using ERP, estimating, and scheduling software
- Ability to travel up to 25% to client sites
