Job Summary
Industrial Engineering Technician role focused on developing, improving, and evaluating manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include performing time studies and calculating Standard Allowed Minutes (SAMs), entering SAMs into Leadtec and updating labor breakdowns, recommending methods to improve worker efficiency and reduce waste, advising on machines/attachments to deskill operations, reviewing efficiencies with Supervisors, preparing labor breakdowns for new styles with operation sequencing minutes, establishing labor costs for new styles, calculating staffing requirements per style, and designing floor layouts for new production lines. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering; 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment preferred; apparel manufacturing experience preferred. Strong communication, problem solving, planning, organizing, and process control skills, and proficiency with MS Office 365 (Word, Excel). Working conditions include a manufacturing environment with potential travel between Winnipeg plants.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering
- 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Apparel manufacturing experience preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent problem solving abilities
- Strong capabilities in planning, organizing and process control
- Must be familiar with MS Office 365, Word and Excel
