Job Summary
Manufacturing Designer responsible for developing jigs, fixtures, tools, and material-handling devices to aid in the manufacturing of heavy-duty forestry machines. Collaborates with Engineering, Production, Purchasing, and Service to improve quality and reduce costs through lean manufacturing and process improvements. Duties include designing layouts of equipment and workspaces, coordinating quality objectives, applying statistical methods to determine processes and staffing, creating reports, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives using CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and GD&T. Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate Degree or Diploma in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
- Experience within a manufacturing environment creating plant layouts, planning equipment installations and designing tools and fixturing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks
- Comprehensive understanding of drawings, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance
- Relevant experience with tooling and fixturing, calculations, and PSRs
- Ability to adapt to changing work environment and communicate effectively
