Job Summary

Lead divisional management teams to facilitate significant improvement activities during plant underperformance, critical launches, and resource shortages to ensure productivity, efficiency, and profit objectives are met. Utilize analysis methods including Value Stream Mapping, time and motion studies, and financial analysis to drive cost optimization and operational excellence initiatives aligned with World Class Manufacturing standards. Conduct workshops with plant personnel to develop solutions, manage concurrent improvement projects, and share best practices across the Magna Exteriors Group. Document logistics solutions for senior leadership review, coach manufacturing plants on improvement plans, and perform annual assessments at North American facilities. Travel frequently (>75%) within North America and Europe to support implementation and maintain standards on the shop floor.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum completion of bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related fields, Supply Chain Management or Logistics
  • Minimum 5 years of related professional experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment
  • Minimum 5 years' Experience in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Demonstrated success in driving medium to large scale capital projects to improve material handling, inventory storage and retrieval, machine setup and utilization, product/service quality, safety, and information management
  • Knowledge of logistics KPIs, cost analysis and labor standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels within and outside of the company
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor and build effective teams
  • Thinks conceptually and strategically from a Lean or Mafact perspective
  • Results-oriented and able to work under pressure
  • Proficient in computer skills in MS Office Suite, Visio and AUTOCAD
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
  • Strong degree of initiative and sense of judgement
  • Ability to travel frequently (>75%) within North America and some trips in Europe
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Well-developed organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand in excess of 6 hours
  • Must be able to lift, push and/or pull up to 40 pounds

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in various manufacturing departments or support team (i.e. Maintenance, Automation) will be considered an asset
