Job Summary
Analyze customer technical requirements to understand process goals and system specifications. Develop customized proposals including sales drawings, 3D renderings, simulations, and process flow diagrams. Estimate costs for equipment and automation systems using historical data and Excel models. Draft technical specifications and present solutions to internal leadership and external customers. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and manufacturing teams to ensure solutions are feasible and aligned with capabilities. Occasional domestic and international travel to customer sites and trade shows is required.
Required Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read technical drawings and equipment specifications
- Experience or proficiency in AutoCAD
- Experience or proficiency in Inventor
- Experience or proficiency in Factory Design Utilities (Solidworks)
- Experience or proficiency in Excel for process modeling and cost estimation
- Experience or proficiency in Word for creating clear technical documentation
- Ability to conduct capacity studies
- Ability to conduct bottleneck analyses
- Ability to conduct process flow development
- Ability to develop technical drawings
- Ability to develop visually impactful sales renderings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to present technical content clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently while staying aligned with sales, engineering, and operations teams
- Analytical mindset

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Associate's or Bachelor's)
- Experience in Building Products Manufacturing (Wood-based, Engineered Wood, Cementitious)
- Experience in Pulp & Paper
- Experience in Advanced Composites (Aerospace, Automotive, Infrastructure)
- Knowledge of industrial automation, PLC controls, and Fanuc robotics
- Prior experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or similar roles
Desired Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings and equipment specifications strongly preferred
- Solidworks experience is also relevant
- Ability to conduct capacity studies, bottleneck analyses, and process flow development preferred
- Comfortable developing both technical drawings and visually impactful sales renderings strongly preferred
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field (Associate's or Bachelor's)
- Experience in industries like Building Products Manufacturing (Wood-based, Engineered Wood, Cementitious)
- Experience in industries like Pulp & Paper
