Job Summary
Analyze production capacity, line balance, and operation rates to improve productivity and create daily and weekly production schedules. Troubleshoot production issues promptly using Plan-Do-Check-Act methodology while supporting equipment up-time objectives. Develop improvement ideas, participate in Value Stream Mapping to eliminate waste, and perform internal audits to ensure facility requirements are met. Complete monthly production closing, implement KPIs, and prepare cost estimates following standard engineering practices. Build working relationships with peers and technicians to drive cooperation between operators and schedulers. Maintain a flexible personal work schedule to ensure necessary tasks are completed within a 24/7 operation environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, field of science or learning major
- 0+ years of proven engineering experience in the manufacturing industry
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Demonstrated know-how related to practical application of engineering science and technology
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
- Functional knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Applied understanding of predictive, preventive and proactive maintenance methodologies
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
- Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
- Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
