Job Summary
Industrial Engineer to lead development / implementation of complex material handling systems & layouts within the Smyrna DC facilities. Lead DC improvement projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost; define scope and objectives; develop detailed timing plans and provide project updates to executive leadership. Create financial models (capital equipment, labor cost/savings, ROI) and manage forecast; coordinate vendor quotes and services; ensure safety, quality, and operational standards; apply Industry 4.0 concepts, automation, Lean principles, data analytics, and WMS to optimize distribution operations; strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain is required
- 4-10 years directly relevant experience
- Ergonomics / workflow design
- AutoCAD or layout design tools
- Root cause analysis
- Time study and labor analysis
- Process development
- SOR development
- CAPEX RFQs and quote assessment
- Industry 4.0
- Automation
- Warehouse management systems (WMS)
- AI and data analytics
- Simulation
- Lean Principles
- Excellent project management skills
- Experience working in cross functional teams in a warehouse, technical or manufacturing environment
