Job Summary
Industrial Electrician at Smurfit Westrock in Camillus, NY. Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical industrial equipment in a large-scale corrugated packaging plant. Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose electrical faults in complex machinery (including corrugators, printing presses, die cutters, and material handling systems), and work with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIs. Install, calibrate sensors and measuring instruments; ensure compliance with NEC and safety policies (LOTO). Assist with installation/commissioning of new equipment; collaborate with mechanical/hydraulic/pneumatic teams; contribute to root-cause analysis to improve machine reliability; support mechanical maintenance to maximize production uptime.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician
- Experience working with 480V three-phase systems
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters)
- Expert knowledge of electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting and programming skills for PLCs and VFDs
- Valid Electrical license or equivalent certification is highly valued
- Ability to work on both mechanical and electrical projects
- Excellent safety awareness and safe work practices
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree or technical certification is a plus
