Job Summary
Receive instructions, wiring diagrams, and specifications to perform scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work. Inspect electrical equipment for motor bearings, lubrication, vibration, and wear, diagnosing trouble using testing equipment or judgment. Determine repair methods to minimize interruption and advise on necessary equipment shutdowns or continued operation. Interpret drawings and wiring diagrams to trace circuits, select replacement materials, and troubleshoot problems. Dismantle, clean, repair, replace, install, maintain, and assemble electrical equipment while adhering to safety precautions. Make repairs on main motor drives, generators, control panels, relays, interlocking systems, and cranes. Erect scaffolds, perform simple rigging, operate small machine tools, and check air compressor operation. Install conduit, fittings, switches, controls, and fixtures as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Must successfully complete a maintenance skills examination
- Demonstrate a minimum of three years professional repair and troubleshooting experience
