Job Summary
Complete major and minor electrical repairs in residential buildings, including troubleshooting HVAC, pumps, ventilation systems, and Building Automation Systems equipment. Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and building systems, conduct monthly tests for hydronic water, boilers, and generators, and monitor fire alarm panels. Respond to tenant requests, address alarm conditions, and ensure heating and cooling needs are met while maintaining accurate documentation and inventory. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm, with on-call rotation providing minimum 4-hour compensation per week plus paid vacation accrual. Work location is the Southwest Properties portfolio in Halifax, NS, with a company vehicle provided.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience (or equivalent) with Building Mechanical and Control Systems
- Journeyman Industrial Electrician
- Exceptional customer service
- Ability to quickly and effectively troubleshoot mechanical problems, recommend & implement solutions
- Ability to perform assigned duties with minimal supervision
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of quality
- Criminal Records Check Completion
- Drivers Abstract
- Valid Drivers License
