Job Summary
Industrial Electrician role performing routine electrical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance and repair on water/wastewater treatment and production equipment, including medium/high voltage gear such as ozone generators, chemical equipment, air compressors, valve actuators, motors, and variable frequency drives. Requires identifying electrical hazards, troubleshooting with independent judgment, and potential mentorship of apprentices. Duties include maintaining equipment, coordinating with operations for critical equipment uptime, documenting work in the CMMS, and adhering to strict safety practices (permit-required confined space, lockout/tagout). Shift-based schedule with twelve-hour shifts and on-call rotations; ongoing continuing education to maintain Journeyman licensure. Must read technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and operate diagnostic tools; proficient in safety and documentation; ability to drive a district vehicle and perform physically demanding tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of experience as an Electrician in an industrial setting.
- Must possess a valid Electrical Journeyman’s license or obtain an Electrical Journeyman’s license with the State of Texas within 24 months.
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
