Job Summary
Industrial Electrician responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across a wide range of industrial equipment in a steel-manufacturing environment. You will diagnose issues with AC/DC motors, PLCs, drives, and high-voltage systems (≤480V), perform routine rounds, and repair cranes, mobile equipment, PLC networks, pumps, motors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. You’ll lay out, install, and maintain electronically controlled equipment including rolling mill loop controls and distribution centers; balance loads; interpret schematics/blueprints; and use diagnostic tools such as digital voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and multi-meters. Documentation of work performed and collaboration with maintenance/production teams to ensure safe and efficient plant operation are essential. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, with ability to pass a Ramsey electrical exam and willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to pass a Ramsey electrical exam
- Strong industrial electrical maintenance skills including PLC and drives experience
- Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and blueprint reading
- Comfortable working at heights
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (days, nights, and two weekends per month)
