Job Summary
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance on heavy machinery, including conveyor systems, crushers, separators, furnaces, and pollution control equipment. Diagnose and repair complex electrical failures in 3-phase motors, motor control centers, PLC systems, and robotic components. Inspect, clean, and replace electrical components degraded by sulfuric acid fumes, implementing specialized sealing and protection. Enforce OSHA safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out, arc flash safety, and PPE requirements. Install new electrical circuits, conduit, wiring, and machinery adhering to NEC standards. Calibrate sensors, timers, and PID controllers for furnace and acid filtration monitoring. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs using CMMS. Work Sunday through Saturday shifts with weekly pay, 401(k) match, and medical coverage.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience as an industrial electrician
- preferably in a heavy manufacturing, foundry, or chemical processing environment
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, blueprints, and 480V 3-phase systems
- Experience troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, particularly regarding hazardous materials and lead safety
- Ability to work in tight spaces, climb ladders, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in extremely hot, loud, and corrosive environments
- Potential exposure to lead dust and sulfuric acid fumes
- Must adhere to OSHA safety standards, specifically involving acid handling and lead exposure
- Must be able to manage high-voltage equipment
- Must be able to work in corrosive environments
Desired Qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician License preferred
