Job Summary
Industrial Electrician role supporting a dairy-free food manufacturing facility in Burnaby, BC. Responsibilities include installing, maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and calibrating electrical equipment and controls across motors, generators, pumps, and heavy-duty machinery; performing preventive and predictive maintenance; following blueprints and local codes; collaborating with maintenance staff and training apprentices; and providing cost estimates and sketches as requested. Requires Red Seal level knowledge or certification, strong PLC familiarity (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, Direct Logic), and comfort with production environments. Full-time, Monday–Friday, with potential overtime; hourly compensation at $46 with shift 3:00PM–11:30PM; benefits include extended health, vacation, FSA, and onsite facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Red Seal Certified Industrial Electrician (preferred)
- Post-Secondary education as electrician or electrical engineer
- Must be able to legally work in Canada
- Previous experience in food manufacturing facility an asset
- Working knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, Direct Logic)
- Knowledge of SOPs and Good Manufacturing Practices in food industry an asset
- Ability to prioritize under tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to train others
- Comfortable working in a production area (temperature, humidity, noise)
- Hearing protection and steel toe shoes required
