Job Summary
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 5 kV throughout the Corpus Christi manufacturing plant. Diagnose electrical problems using schematics, test equipment, and documentation to restore safe and reliable plant operations. Perform preventive maintenance, inspect for code compliance, and execute lockout/tagout procedures for all electrical work. Respond to emergency failures and collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Instrumentation teams to resolve cross-disciplinary issues. Maintain accurate records in the CMMS and participate in safety audits and continuous improvement efforts. Work M-F 7am-3:30pm with availability for overtime, weekends, and emergency call-ins.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial electrical experience in a manufacturing, chemical processing, refinery, pulp and paper, or similar industrial environment
- Demonstrated qualification and experience working on electrical systems and equipment from 24 VDC through 5 kV
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, power distribution, control circuits, and electrical troubleshooting
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, instrument indexes, and computerized technical data archives
- Experience troubleshooting electrical equipment in an operating industrial facility
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices, including lockout/tagout and electrical safe work practices
- Ability to use electrical test equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools
- Ability to work independently, prioritize work, and make sound technical decisions in a time-sensitive manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and other plant personnel
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with VFDs, PLCs, motor control centers, transformers, switchgear, and industrial control systems
- Electrical journeyman license or recognized industrial electrical certification
- NFPA 70E training or equivalent electrical safety training
- Experience working in hazardous/classified electrical areas
- Experience with industrial power distribution and emergency power systems
