Job Summary

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems, machinery, and equipment while performing preventive maintenance as assigned. Read manufacturer manuals, electrical schematics, and technical documents to diagnose issues and generate required paperwork including work orders and logs. Use hand and power tools, precision instruments, and testing devices to complete repairs in compliance with OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and food production standards. Access vertical heights up to 150 feet and work in open, confined, and wet spaces while wearing required protective equipment. Organize assigned tasks and monitor work quality to reduce equipment downtime in a fast-paced poultry processing environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Industrial, manufacturing, or plant electrical maintenance experience
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand manufacturer equipment manuals, electrical schematics, electronic diagrams, and technical documents
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and general workplace safety practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and electronic systems, equipment, and machinery
  • Ability to use common hand tools, power tools, precision instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices
  • Ability to provide all hand tools needed to safely perform the job
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to organize assigned tasks and monitor the quality of work being performed
  • Ability to work with or near animal blood
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and able to take initiative when troubleshooting and resolving issues
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to pass a drug, alcohol and background screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment
  • Verification of employment eligibility must be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work
  • Ability to stand for 8 to 14 hours
  • Ability to work outside in all seasonal weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Ability to reach vertical heights up to 150 feet
  • Ability to tolerate varying heat, wet, and chill conditions within the plant
  • Ability to handle product ranging from approximately 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in open areas, confined spaces, and areas with wet or moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces
  • Hearing and eye protective equipment are required in the production area
  • Hair and beard nets are required in the production area
  • Additional personal protective equipment may be required based on task, location, and safety requirements, which may include self-contained breathing apparatus

Desired Qualifications

  • Electrical maintenance experience in a food processing, poultry processing, manufacturing, or production environment
  • Experience troubleshooting production equipment, motors, controls, sensors, electrical panels, or related plant systems
  • Experience using preventive maintenance systems, work orders, and maintenance documentation
  • Experience working in confined spaces or elevated work areas
  • Familiarity with plant safety programs, PPE requirements, and production equipment repair procedures
