Industrial Electrical Technical Designer III

Job Summary
Conduct all aspects of electrical engineering design for industrial process projects, including power distribution, equipment selection, and site utilities with minimal direction. Direct, supervise, and mentor electrical engineers and EITs while ensuring quality control and compliance with codes. Coordinate multi-discipline teams, prepare schematic and construction documents, and manage project budgets, schedules, and proposals. Represent the firm on-site during construction, review shop drawings, and respond to RFIs. Lead project engineering efforts, develop discipline methodologies, and support business development. Travel up to 20%.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ABET-accredited 4, 5, or 6-year engineering program in one of the following disciplines: Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
- 7-18 years of significant design and practice experience in a leadership role with an Industrial firm, Electrical firm, MEP firm, or multi-discipline Architectural & Engineering firm
- Substantial knowledge of applicable codes and standards
- Electrical engineering experience in an industrial setting
- Ability to prepare effective and concise documents
- Ability to make presentations to a variety of groups
- Possess technical precision and creative design skills
- Have a client-oriented can-do attitude with a desire to provide outstanding professional services
- Be dedicated to his or her professional development as well as the success of colleagues and the firm as a whole
- Possess demonstrated ability to lead by example, teaching and mentoring less experienced staff and working well with others in a team environment
- Proficient in MS Office Software
- Proficient in discipline specific design software
- Potential travel up to 20%
Desired Qualifications
- Active participation in IEEE, IES or other related professional organizations
- Specific software includes: SKM Power Tools or Equivalent
- Specific software includes: Microsoft Office
- Specific software includes: AutoCAD
- Specific software includes: MicroStation
- Specific software includes: BIM
- Strong experience in the design of power distribution, lighting, and communications systems
- 24-hour MSHA miner safety training
- Familiarity with MSHA standards and other related industrial process design parameters
- Design or construction experience in Design/Build and Engineering Procurement Construction project delivery methods
