Job Summary
Build and strengthen customer relationships using a consultative sales approach while ensuring job costs, profitability, and margins align with company standards. Oversee all aspects of branch operations, including sales performance, staffing, and customer satisfaction, by managing P&L, budgeting, and gross margin goals. Recruit, hire, and lead branch staff including apprentices, journeymen, and electronic field technicians, while assessing workload demands and assigning internal resources appropriately. Collaborate with suppliers to secure necessary equipment on time and carry an individual sales quota to achieve branch goals. Requires 5+ years of general or operations management experience in a trades-related industry, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a valid driver's license. Full-time, Monday–Friday day shift with on-call rotation and up to 25% travel.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of general or operations management experience in a trades-related industry
- Experience in business development, forecasting, and budgeting
- Proven success managing P&L statements and driving revenue growth
- Project management experience with the ability to match personnel skillsets to project requirements
- Demonstrated success as a selling manager with consistent achievement of targets
- Ability to manage, coach, and motivate a multi-level staff of 5–15 employees
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical personnel
- Strong organizational, follow-up, and leadership skills
- Hands-on, calm under pressure, innovative, and solution-oriented
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Valid Driver's License
- Electrical Certification or License
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
- Must reliably commute to or be willing to relocate to the Birmingham area before starting
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience
