Job Summary
Industrial Controls & Automation Engineer role focusing on PLC programming, automation improvements, and control-system reliability in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include developing/modifying PLC programs, troubleshooting automation systems and hardware, maintaining backups for continuity, designing and maintaining HMI applications, optimizing control strategies, performing root cause investigations, supporting capital projects and modernization initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve equipment performance and process stability. Requires hands-on troubleshooting, strong PLC experience (Siemens S7/TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley, GE RX3i, Toshiba NV), HMI/SCADA proficiency (Ignition, Cimplicity, WinCC), and knowledge of industrial networks (Profibus/Profinet). Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of related experience preferred; strong communication and project-management skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Minimum of five years of experience supporting automation systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong experience programming, troubleshooting, and optimizing PLC-based control systems
- Working knowledge of motors, drives, and AC/DC electrical control systems
- Proficiency with ladder logic programming and industrial automation architectures
- Experience managing technical projects from design through implementation
- Ability to work effectively in both engineering office and manufacturing floor environments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams
