Job Summary
Operate blast equipment to clean and profile metal surfaces to project specifications, inspect surfaces before and after blasting to verify profile depth and cleanliness, set up and break down blast equipment, monitor media and nozzle condition, maintain a clean work area, and adhere to safety and environmental standards. Collaborate with the Blast Plant Prep Lead to keep production on schedule; demonstrate ownership mindset and willingness to take on miscellaneous duties. Prior blasting or surface-prep experience is valued, with training provided. Must be able to work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs. Knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards and OSHA/PPE requirements is beneficial; strong communication and teamwork are essential. This is a full-time role with two shifts (Day and Night) in Circleville, Ohio, with ESOP ownership potential and competitive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience in industrial blasting or surface preparation (FORJAK will train the right candidate)
- Ability to operate blast equipment, including blast pots and nozzles, and to set up/break down equipment
- Ability to inspect surfaces before/after blasting to verify profile depth and cleanliness
- Willingness to work in physically demanding environments, standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and in confined spaces
- Strong communication and teamwork, with a team-first attitude
- Adherence to safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements
- Familiarity with SSPC surface preparation standards (preferred) and anchor profile requirements (preferred)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification and confined space training (preferred)
- Open to flexible shifts and willingness to support evolving organizational needs
