Job Summary
Lead industrial performance initiatives by synchronizing the Kinston Industrial System to production requirements, analyzing plant data for improvement opportunities, and implementing continuous improvement techniques. Manage Technical Specialist teams for Quality, EQN, DQN, and Process Engineering while validating cutting-edge technologies to enhance operational performance and ramp-up. Establish clear KPIs to demonstrate performance to leadership, link with other Airbus plants to share best practices, and rapidly identify corrective solutions for production issues. Define assembly strategies, specify tools for geometric tolerances, and ensure interfaces between industrial systems and production remain efficient. Coach ME team members, drive a culture of accountability, and resolve technical queries from stakeholders to support the manufacturing of critical A350 XWB components.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years relevant engineering experience within a Manufacturing Engineering environment
- Strong background in Production Planning systems with a knowledge of SAP principles
- Strong understanding of metallic and composite manufacturing, assembly techniques and treatment processes
- Experience in manufacturing or assembly technology implementation
- Experience of lean manufacturing / continuous improvement environment
- Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite - Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook or equivalent
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering tool sets (SAP, MES Etc)
- 5% Domestic and International travel
- Authorised to work in the US
- BS Degree from an ABET engineering program
- Preferred Masters degree from an ABET engineering program
- Working knowledge and application of Business management systems (BMS) and Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Preferred General knowledge of FAA, EASA and ICAO
- Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site
- Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits
- appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the production floor
- Daily able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings
- Daily able to hear daily to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms
- Daily able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications
- Daily able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts
- Daily able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer
- Daily able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor
- Daily able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces
- Onsite - Aligned with the Airbus Hybrid working policy
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred Masters degree from an ABET engineering program
- Preferred General knowledge of FAA, EASA and ICAO preferred
