Job Summary

Induction Mentor coordinates and delivers in-person observation and coaching for induction participating teachers, monitors progress toward induction goals and credentialing requirements, collaborates with school leaders to align experiences with program priorities, and supports intern candidates and the intern program through project-based coursework. The role emphasizes coaching conversations, formative feedback, collaboration with the lead Intern Mentor, and regular travel between Summit Public School sites to support early career teachers within the Marshall Induction Program and related credentialing initiatives. The position requires strong knowledge of education theory and pedagogy, anti-racist teaching practices, expertise in adult learning, and the ability to manage a caseload of up to 20 teachers while engaging with multiple stakeholders across P-12 and higher education contexts.

Required Qualifications

  • Clear California Single Subject Teaching Credential
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience coaching and/or mentoring early career educators
  • Minimum of 5 years of full time teaching experience
  • Master’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Meet health clearance, and pass the reference, background/criminal checks, per education code
  • Access to reliable personal transportation is required for regular travel between Summit Public School sites.
