Job Summary
Indoor Program Counselor at Rock Spot Climbing responsible for creating a safe, positive indoor experience for youth climbers during weekly programs. Monitor safety, deliver high-quality instruction in small groups, implement and adapt lesson plans and curriculum, run games and activities, communicate professionally with participants and parents, and collaborate as part of a team under the direction of the Program Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Outgoing, friendly personality
- Schooling in education, recreation, or a related field
- Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience
- Experience teaching/coaching a hands on skill or sport
- Experience working with youth of all ages
- Previous camp/youth experience
- Experience creating or implementing lesson plans
- Experience running games and activities for youth
- Ability to engage an audience
- Ability to enforce rules and regulations
- Detail oriented and organized
- Punctual and reliable
- CPR and First Aid Certified (or willing to acquire)
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs
