Job Summary
Indoor Camp Counselor at Rock Spot Climbing responsible for creating an awesome camp experience for young climbers. Will monitor safety and create fun activities during weekly camp programs for youth at our facilities, all activities conducted under the direction of the Program Manager. Responsibilities include delivering First Class Customer Service, providing High Quality Instruction in a small group setting, maintaining a professional level of communication with campers and parents, implementing Personalized Lesson Plans and curriculum, adapting activities to individual needs, and supporting Terrific Teamwork with other counselors and staff. Must be able to engage an audience, run games and activities for youth, and be punctual and reliable. CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to acquire is required. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move up to 50lbs. Rock Spot Climbing emphasizes creating a positive climbing experience for all and values safety, excellence, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willing to acquire)
- Previous indoor rock climbing and belaying experience
- Experience teaching/coaching a hands on skill or sport
- Experience working with youth of all ages
- Experience creating or implementing lesson plans
- Experience running games and activities for youth
- Ability to engage an audience
- Ability to enforce rules and regulations
- Detail oriented and organized
- Punctual and reliable
- Schooling in education, recreation, or a related field
