Job Summary
Indonesian Language Instructor to support LEAP and AFCLC, delivering one-on-one and small-group instruction online and on-site at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL. The role involves administering the eMentor curricula, preparing instructional aids, delivering instruction aligned with lesson objectives, supporting OnDemand scheduling in LEaDeR, and providing feedback and assessments to learners (ILR 0–3+). The position supports a globally distributed force with 24/7 course access, synchronous online sessions, and culturally and geopolitically informed content. Candidates must meet ILR proficiency, hold a bachelor’s degree in language instruction or related social science (or equivalent embedded experience), be capable of cross-level assessments, and pass a background check. Travel not required; remote work available. The role emphasizes instructional design, platform proficiency (UCC tools), cross-cultural communication, and up-to-date teaching techniques for language development across multiple modalities.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess language skills in the target language(s) equivalent to ILR Advanced Professional Proficiency or Superior rating in speaking and writing for each language/dialect
- Bachelor’s degree in language instruction or related social science (e.g., History, Political Science, International Relations, Anthropology, Archeology, Cultural Geography) and/or minimum of five years embedded experience in target cultures
- Capable of delivering instruction and assessments across ILR levels 0 through 3+
- Extensive global regional expertise
- Extensive knowledge of foreign language teaching techniques and instructional systems
- Extensive knowledge of learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology, and Instructional Product Development
- Extensive knowledge of instructional design practices, principles, techniques, and curriculum development
- Extensive knowledge of standardized, web-based, interactive course delivery systems
- Extensive expertise in instructor facilitation and faculty development
- Extensive knowledge of the use of computers in education and training
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in multimedia design and delivery methods (e.g., embedded video instruction)
- General knowledge of and competency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other productivity software
- eMentors may be dual nationals native to regions where language is spoken and/or professional language instructors with demonstrated expertise in relevant cultures and customs
