Job Summary
Indonesian Distance Learning Associate Language Instructor provides live virtual instruction to develop Indonesian language proficiency and cultural knowledge using modern blended-learning methods. Responsibilities include delivering instruction across Listening, Reading, and Speaking, teaching regional culture, developing lesson plans, assessing student progress (ILR 0+ to 3), reviewing assignments, maintaining a positive virtual classroom, and collaborating with Site Lead and POI analysts to address curriculum gaps. Required capabilities include US citizenship, native or near-native language ability with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent, virtual-language instruction experience, understanding of regional culture, ability to create blended learning lessons tailored to student needs, and access to required hardware and high-speed internet. Desired qualifications include experience with CL-150 or Blackboard and a Bachelor's Degree. Location is remote with no travel.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen
- Educated native speaker of the foreign language or a near-native foreign language capability in listening, reading, and speaking with ILR 3/3/3 or equivalent
- Experience in providing various levels of foreign language instruction through a virtual environment
- Understanding of the cultural, social, and political environment of the foreign language region
- Experience in creating blended learning lessons and the ability to tailor existing materials to fit the customer’s needs and expectations
- Instructor must have access to a Windows, a computer, webcam, headset with a microphone, a phone or smart tablet, and a high-speed internet connection
